portfolio > expert and heuristic reviews
Below are some reviewing examples I have conducted and participated in.
artists for humanity
Myself and my colleagues Kristy Hanson (Bentley University) and Katelyn Thompson (Design and Usability Center) conducted a heuristic evaluation for Artists for Humanity, a non-profit organization in the Boston area. We are still in the process of finalizing the review. I will post it here shortly.
www.capehomepage.com
This was the first review I conducted independently. I was asked to look over the website www.capehomepage.com, offer some recommendations and some possible design solutions. From this review, I was able to conduct a heuristic evaluation, create wireframes, and communicate firsthand with the person who requested a review.
group expert review
For the course Managing a User-Centered Design Team, my team of 4 conducted an expert review on the website usabilitynet.org. Each team member individually evaluated the website by page type (we determined 5 different page types), and then we worked as a team to create the final review. My team mates were Tomer Sharon (Google), Mike Ryan (Thomson Reuters) and Jon Winsor (Ipswitch).
GOMS analysis
In class and also during my time at Autodesk I have conducted GOMS analyses. I find that it is useful when comparing two different designs of tasks that are repeated over and over by a user. In repetitive tasks, seconds are important to the user.
